Future Weaving Circle with May Bartlett
Thursday, May 28th, 2026 @ 7:00 - 8:30pm
A collective reimagining of our world
Our times call for a collective dreaming to reimagine what’s possible for our future. There’s an ancient myth* called The Old Woman in The Cave, that can give us some insight into how to navigate these times. The old woman spends her days and nights weaving the threads of the universe together into a beautiful garment. One night a dog enters the cave and destroys her work. At first she thinks all is lost, but as she stares into the chaos, she finds the end of a new thread to pull that inspires an even more beautiful vision for the garment.
We find ourselves staring at the unravelling chaos of the world. And we have a choice. We can get lost in its mess and assume all is doomed, or we can find our unique thread, only revealed to us through the destruction of what was.
Together in circle we’ll face the chaos to each find our thread, then learn how to pull the end to untangle our callings, visions, and gifts. Through community ritual we’ll start to weave the fabric of new futures together in a collective reimagining of our world. We’ll see how everyone’s thread is an essential part of the garment, yet insufficient without each other.
Throughout the evening we’ll engage in guided meditation, storytelling, ritual, and soul searching. You’ll leave with more insight into the darkness and a thread to guide you when things feel hopeless.
As part of this event, we’ll be raising money for Pandos, a local non-profit advocating for Indigenous sovereignty across Turtle Island. You’ll be invited, but not required, to donate what you’d like.
*There are many versions of this myth told throughout indigenous traditions. Here on Turtle Island across many tribes, specifically among Pueblo people. Versions are also found in Norse mythology.
Please arrive a few minutes early. Circle will begin at 7pm. You’re invited to bring any ritual items you’d like to add to our community altar, but nothing is required. All ritual materials will be provided and all experience levels are welcome.
