The Wisdom of the Dream: How you can analyze your night stories with Dr. Mark R. Grandstaff, Ph.D.

Thursday, March 19, 2026 @ 7:00 - 8:30pm

Dreamwork has long been recognized as a vital pathway to psychological insight and inner integration. Dreams arise from the unconscious and express themselves in symbolic language, revealing emotions, conflicts, and potentials that often lie outside waking awareness. By attending carefully to dreams, individuals gain access to aspects of the psyche like the Shadow and the Self that are not filtered through rational defenses or social expectations. Dreamwork allows these symbolic messages to be explored rather than dismissed, helping the dreamer uncover hidden motivations, unresolved tensions, and emerging possibilities for growth. In this way, dreams serve as a natural form of self-regulation, offering guidance, warning, and compensation for one-sided attitudes in conscious life.

In this 90 minute workshop, I will introduce you to Carl Jung’s Approach to Dreamwork. First, we discuss the whys of dreamwork, give an overview of the Psyche, looking at the Shadow, the Anima, and the Animus. Then I will teach you a “Lightning Dream Process,” taught to me personally by Robert Moss, who has written more than 18 books on dreaming. You will leave this meeting with a better understanding of Dreams and the process of remembering and analyzing them. Bring a notebook, two pens (different colors), a recent dream, and a Beginner’s mind. This will be fun and enlivening as we move into Sacred time.
