Rumi-Eve Celebration 2025 with Rasoul Shams

Tuesday, December 16, 2025 6:30 - 7:30pm

Rumi passed away at sunset on Sunday, December 17th, 1273. He suggested not to mourn his death but to instead be joyful and loving. For centuries, December 17th has been celebrated as Rumi's Night of Union.

On December 16th this year, on the eve of Rumi's passing, we will gather and share our favorite poems and inspiring thoughts. The evening will be moderated by Rasoul Shams, Director of Rumi Poetry Club, and translator of Rumi: The Art of Loving, The Words of Rumi, and Through Love Pain Is Healed.

About Rasoul Shams:

Rasoul Shams first learned of Rumi's poems in his Persian classes as a young boy in Iran. The works of Rumi and other Persian poets have been his spiritual companions for decades. He has studied and lived in India, Japan, and the USA. He founded the Rumi Poetry Club in 2007. His books include Rumi: The Art of Loving, Rumi Essays: On the Life, Poetry, and Vision of the Greatest Persian Sufi Poet, The Words of Rumi, and Through Love Pain is Healed.
